John the Apostle wrote about this miracle because he was there. Jesus heard that His friend Lazarus was sick. When He arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had already died. Martha said, "If You had been here, my brother would not have died." At the tomb, Jesus said, "Take away the stone," and called, "Lazarus, come out!" Lazarus came out alive.

사도 요한은 이 기적을 직접 보았기 때문에 기록했습니다. 예수님은 친구 나사로가 병들었다는 소식을 들으셨습니다. 예수님께서 베다니에 도착하셨을 때, 나사로는 이미 죽은 뒤였습니다. 마르다는 "주께서 여기 계셨더라면 내 오라버니가 죽지 아니하였겠나이다"라고 말했습니다. 무덤 앞에서 예수님은 "돌을 옮겨 놓으라"고 하시고, "나사로야, 나오라!" 하고 부르셨습니다. 그러자 나사로가 살아서 나왔습니다.
